Hello, my name is Shalane and I'm a Zooholic.

My parents have grown concerned with my addiction, which started at the tender age of five. I have a compulsive need to see, touch and talk about animals of all sizes, shapes and phyla.

I’ve worked at the second largest zoo in Canada for about 2 years now, spreading my infectious love of creatures. Some of my symptoms include conducting tours, leading educational programs and animal handling.

I have developed many ways of curving my addiction including the following:
-conservation research in Costa Rica in the spring
-volunteering at the new Veterinary Medicine Faculty
-animal care in the zoology labs at the university
-proud owner of three felines
-compulsive buying of animal related objects
-taken "two" many senior level zoology courses in one semester
